Rapid test for the qualitative detection of human Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) in human whole blood.
The thyroid gland is composed of thyroid follicles which synthesize and store thyroid hormone. Its activity is regulated by the thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) released from the pituitary gland. An under active thyroid is a condition called hypothyroidism, in which the thyroid gland doesn't produce enough quantity of specific hormones.
Hypothyroidism is more common in women over 60. Symptoms vary in severity, but common signs include fatigue, dry skin, weight gain, hoarseness, muscle weakness, elevated cholesterol, and joint pain.
